- Case Report: Two cases of primary malignant melanoma of the female genital tract and literature review. [Case Reports]Front Immunol. 2026; 17:1797752.FI
- Primary malignant melanoma of the cervix (PMMC) is an exceptionally rare and aggressive malignancy with a poor prognosis. Due to its rarity, there are no standardized treatment guidelines. This case report presents two patients with PMMC, contributing to the literature through a novel treatment approach and literature review. Both patients presented with vaginal bleeding: one postmenopausal witho…

Such cases are relatively uncommon in women of reproductive age and postmenopausal women, and the long-term retention of foreign bodies in adults is particularly rare. We report a case of a 53-year-old postmenopausal woman with a history of bipolar disorder and autism spe…

- Endometrial Cancer: A Review. [Journal Article]JAMA. 2026 Apr 13. [Online ahead of print]JAMA
- CONCLUSIONS: Endometrial cancer accounts for 95% of uterine cancers, which are the fourth most common cancer in women in the US. Surgery is first-line treatment. Adjuvant radiation is recommended for early-stage, high-intermediate risk endometrial cancer. Adjuvant chemotherapy with carboplatin and paclitaxel is recommended for early-stage disease with aggressive histologic subtypes and advanced-stage disease, which is also treated with immunotherapy in some cases.

- Optimization of methylated DNA markers to rule out endometrial cancer in patients with abnormal uterine bleeding. [Journal Article]Gynecol Oncol. 2026 Apr 10; 208:91-99. [Online ahead of print]GO
- CONCLUSIONS: Rigorous marker reduction from 19 MDMs to 12 allowed for marker selection of a 2-MDM panel with high sensitivity and specificity to detect EC in vaginal fluid.

- Müllerian adenosarcoma in a young adult: A case report and literature review of diagnostic and management challenges. [Case Reports]Gynecol Oncol Rep. 2026 Apr; 64:102069.GO
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights a rare high-grade presentation in a young adult. Despite aggressive histological features, the absence of myometrial invasion supports definitive surgery followed by intensive long-term surveillance. This report underscores the necessity of a high index of suspicion for malignancy in recurrent polypoid masses within the reproductive age group and addresses critical gaps regarding fertility preservation and age-specific management protocols.

- A Rare Case of Uterine Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma in a Postmenopausal Woman. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 Mar; 18(3):e104672.C
- This report describes a rare presentation of embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS) in a 76-year-old postmenopausal woman who presented with several months of unreported vaginal bleeding followed by obstructive urinary symptoms. Imaging revealed a large uterine mass, and biopsy with immunohistochemical staining confirmed ERMS characterized by high-grade histopathologic features. Given her advanced age…

- Coincidental occurrence of endometrial hyperplasia with atypia and vaginal leech infestation in a postmenopausal woman: a rare case report. [Case Reports]Int J Surg Case Rep. 2026 Apr; 138(4):1449-1453.IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: This case illustrates a rare coexistence of two distinct causes of vaginal bleeding: endometrial hyperplasia with atypia and vaginal leech infestation. In women from rural areas with exposure to contaminated water, clinicians should maintain a high index of suspicion for leech infestation even when another cause of bleeding is established.

- HPV6-associated cervical squamous cell carcinoma: a case report and literature review. [Journal Article]Front Oncol. 2026; 16:1798759.FO
- Low-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) types are traditionally regarded as non-oncogenic and are primarily associated with benign epithelial proliferations. Invasive cervical squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC) related to low-risk HPV infection is exceedingly rare. Here, we report a rare case of HPV6-associated CSCC in a postmenopausal woman and comprehensively characterize its clinicopathological, immun…

- Primary pure small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the endometrium: a case report. [Journal Article]J Med Case Rep. 2026 Mar 23. [Online ahead of print]JM
- CONCLUSIONS: Primary pure small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the endometrium is an exceptionally rare and highly malignant neoplasm associated with an unfavorable prognosis. Accurate diagnosis relies on histopathological and immunohistochemical evaluation. In this single-case observation, comprehensive surgical staging followed by platinum-based chemotherapy was administered. However, owing to the limited follow-up duration and the absence of adjuvant radiotherapy, definitive conclusions regarding treatment efficacy cannot be drawn. Larger case series and longer-term follow-up are required to establish optimal management strategies for this rare tumor.

- Endometrial carcinoma in a patient with post-stroke sequelae: a case report. [Case Reports]Front Med (Lausanne). 2026; 13:1733931.FM
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights that for patients with endometrial cancer and post-stroke sequelae undergoing Category IV procedures (laparoscopic hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, and sentinel lymph node mapping), MDT collaboration and specialist nursing consultations are critical to addressing complex perioperative care needs (airway, nutrition, skin) and achieving favorable outcomes.

- Giant pedunculated submucosal leiomyoma mimicking a cervical mass in a postmenopausal woman . a rare case report. [Case Reports]Int J Surg Case Rep. 2026 Mar; 138(3):963-968.IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights a rare presentation of a huge pedunculated submucosal leiomyoma in a postmenopausal woman mimicking a cervical mass. Careful correlation of clinical presentation and imaging findings can aid preoperative assessment; however, definitive diagnosis relies on histopathological examination. Awareness of this unusual entity is crucial for timely diagnosis and successful surgical management.
