- Second-Trimester Uterine Rupture After Conservative Myomectomy: A Case Report and Institutional Perspective. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 Apr; 18(4):e107129.C
- Uterine rupture following myomectomy represents a rare but severe complication of pregnancy, with a reported incidence of less than 1%. It most commonly occurs during the late second or third trimester and is associated with significant maternal hemorrhage and fetal compromise. We report the case of a 36-year-old G3P0 woman at 28 + 5 weeks of gestation with a history of prior laparoscopic myomect…

- Physical activity levels and their multilevel determinants in pregnant women screened for contraindications: a cross-sectional study in Shanghai, China. [Journal Article]BMC Public Health. 2026 May 11. [Online ahead of print]BP
- CONCLUSIONS: Having a contraindication was not a significant independent predictor of physical activity levels in this sample. The key modifiable barriers were psychosocial and knowledge-based. Integrating systematic screening with personalized counseling that target these factors is recommended to effectively promote physical activity in prenatal care.

- Ultrasound texture-based radiomics of placental and myometrial tissue for predicting postpartum blood loss in women with placenta previa and low-lying placenta. [Journal Article]Acta Obstet Gynecol Scand. 2026 Jun; 105(6):1151-1162.AO
- CONCLUSIONS: Radiomic analysis of ultrasound images enhances risk prediction for postpartum major blood loss in pregnancies affected by placenta previa and low-lying placenta. Integrating radiomics with clinical and sonographic data improves predictive accuracy, offering a promising tool for personalized obstetric risk assessment and management.

- Case Report: Spontaneous complete uterine rupture in the second and third trimester of pregnancy. [Case Reports]Front Med (Lausanne). 2026; 13:1802146.FM
- CONCLUSIONS: Spontaneous complete uterine rupture during the second and third trimester of pregnancy typically presents as non-labor acute abdominal pain and may occur in women without a prior uterine surgery history, especially in the second trimester, where fetal outcomes are poor. Clinicians should maintain a high index of suspicion for uterine rupture in pregnant women presenting with acute abdominal pain, regardless of previous cesarean history. Early diagnosis and the establishment of a rapid, multidisciplinary emergency response are critical to improving maternal and fetal outcomes.

- Recognition of intrapartum uterine rupture, anesthetic management, and maternal-fetal outcomes: strategies for rapid response. [Review]Curr Opin Anaesthesiol. 2026 Jun 01; 39(3):245-251.CO
- CONCLUSIONS: Effective management of uterine rupture involves appropriate risk assessment, vigilant intrapartum monitoring, and structured rapid-response strategies. The integration of hemorrhage protocols and preparedness strategies on labor and delivery units is fundamental to improving outcomes.

- Management of Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage During Pregnancy with a Devastating Clinical Course: A Case Report. [Case Reports]J Clin Med. 2026 Apr 03; 15(7).JC
- Background: Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) during pregnancy is rare, occurring in approximately 0.01-0.05% of pregnancies, most commonly in the third trimester. Its management is particularly challenging, requiring careful consideration of both maternal and fetal outcomes. Methods: We report the case of a 32-year-old woman at 31 weeks of gestation who presented with severe headache and …

- Outcome of Mid Trimester Termination of Pregnancy in Previous Caesarian Section By Combined Mifepristone and Misoprostol. [Journal Article]Mymensingh Med J. 2026 Apr; 35(2):349-355.MM
- Mid-trimester termination of pregnancy in individuals with a previous Caesarean section (CS) presents a heightened clinical challenge due to the risk of uterine scar complications, including rupture and hemorrhage. The combined regimen of mifepristone and misoprostol is a well-established method for medical termination; however, its safety and efficacy profile in patients with a uterine scar, par…
- Enhanced peripartum hemostatic management does not decrease postpartum hemorrhage incidence in hemophilia carriers: the Pregnancy and Inherited Bleeding Disorders study. [Multicenter Study]J Thromb Haemost. 2026 Jun; 24(6):2061-2070.JT
- CONCLUSIONS: Increasing the third trimester cutoff to < 80 IU/dL and aiming for ≥ 150 IU/dL at delivery did not decrease the risk for severe PPH in hemophilia carriers. More research is needed on optimal clotting factor levels during delivery to prevent severe PPH.

- Pregnancy outcomes and risk factors of decidual polyps in the first trimester after fresh cycle embryo transfer. [Journal Article]Int J Gynaecol Obstet. 2026 Feb 24. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: The presence of DPs is associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes. Therefore, patients presenting with first-trimester vaginal bleeding or ultrasonographically suspected DPs should undergo thorough speculum examination and cervical secretion culture. Whenever available, culture-guided treatment should be implemented. Additionally, evaluation and active management of cervical insufficiency during pregnancy are recommended in these patients.

- Delayed presentation of a snake bite with multiple life threatening complications in third trimester pregnancy successfully managed in resource limited setting: case report. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: Although snakebite is a common public health problem, it is often neglected. As with other neglected tropical diseases, estimating the global morbidity, disability, and mortality caused by snakebite envenoming is challenging. The disease is prevalent among individuals in impoverished agricultural and herding communities in low- and middle-income countries, where access to healthcare is limited and health-seeking behavior may be poor, making this health issue potentially fatal. Snakebite envenomation during pregnancy has severe consequences for both the mother and the fetus. Increasing community awareness, ensuring early admission, close follow-up, and appropriate management through a multidisciplinary approach can improve outcomes for both mother and fetus.

- Double trouble in pregnancy: Complete hydatidiform mole coexisting with a live fetus and maternal crisis: A case report and comprehensive literature review. [Case Reports]
- Complete hydatidiform mole with a coexisting live fetus (CHMCF) is an exceptionally rare, high-risk obstetric condition, most often seen in dichorionic twin pregnancies, with an estimated incidence of 1 in 20,000-100,000. Maternal complications frequently include vaginal bleeding, early-onset preeclampsia, thyrotoxicosis, and, occasionally, progression to gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN)…

- Epistaxis during the third trimester of pregnancy is associated with blood transfusion a retrospective case-control study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Epistaxis during pregnancy, particularly in the third trimester, is independently associated with a nearly fivefold increase in the odds of requiring a blood transfusion. While typically considered benign, epistaxis may serve as a clinical marker for systemic vascular susceptibility. These findings suggest that pregnant women presenting with epistaxis may benefit from enhanced clinical surveillance and interdisciplinary coordination to manage potential peripartum hemorrhagic complications.

- Risk Factors Associated With Placenta Previa: A Matched Case-Control Study. [Journal Article]
- Introduction Placenta praevia is a recognized pregnancy complication characterized by the placenta implanting partially or completely within the lower uterine segment, and it is associated with significant maternal and perinatal morbidity. Antepartum hemorrhage is a cardinal sign of placenta praevia, and it is unusual for a woman with placenta praevia to reach the late third trimester without vag…
