Gestational thrombocytopenia (platelet counts ≥70 × 10/L) is a benign, mild thrombocytopenia associated with pregnancy.

Epidemiology

Gestational thrombocytopenia spontaneously occurs in approximately 5%–7% of otherwise uncomplicated pregnancies.1

Etiology
