System Requirements

Unbound Medicine applications work on all iPhone and iPod touch devices. For specific memory requirements, please see the User Guide for the product you are installing.

Installation Steps

Downloading the application
Begin by downloading the application from the iPhone App store. You can do this directly on your iPhone or through the iTunes program installed on your PC or Mac. From either starting point, search for "Unbound Medicine" to see a list of products available from Unbound Medicine, or search for the product by its title to find it quickly.

Once you find the product you want, click Install.

GETTING AROUND

Launching the Application

The application can be launched from your device’s Home screen. Tap the application icon and you will be prompted to do one of two things: Login or Learn More.

If you have already purchased the application from the Unbound Medicine store, simply enter your Username and Password and tap the Login button.

If you would like to purchase the application of if you have further questions, tap the "Learn More" button to access more information.

Home Screen

The Home screen displays your selected content. To open a content resource, tap the desired entry in the list.


Syncing

We recommend that you sync your device often to ensure that you have the most up-to-date content. Once you arrive at the program’s home page, you can sync by tapping the sync icon in the upper righthand corner.




Jump To

To find an entry quickly and avoid having to scroll through an entire index, use the Jump To feature. Tap the "Jump to..." textbox located just above the main index and the keyboard will appear. Next, start typing the word you want to find. The cursor will automatically move to the location of the index that matches the characters you type.


Favorites

The Unbound platform allows you to mark important information as a Favorite so you can return to it easily at any time. To view a list of the records you’ve marked as a favorite, return to the application’s home screen and tap the Favorites entry at the top of your list of resources.


To create a Favorite, first navigate to the record you would like to mark. Once there, press the star icon found in the tool bar at the bottom of the screen. A second menu will appear with the options, "Add to Favorites" and "Cancel". Select "Add Favorites" to save your selection.


To remove a Favorite, select the record from your list and tap the star icon again. When the second menu appears, select "Remove from Favorites".


Crosslinks

Unbound Medicine’s Crosslinks feature enables you to access desired information across your content. When you’re seeking related information across your Unbound resources, the power of Crosslinks makes it easy.

This feature will only appear when linked resources are available. If linked resources are available, you will see the Crosslinks icon (opposite pointing arrows) appear in the tool bar at the bottom of the screen.

Tap the icon and you will be presented with a new screen which lists all available Crosslinks. The icon appearing next to each entry identifies the linked resource. To return to the original resource, use the back arrow in the upper lefthand corner.



RESOURCES

Selecting a Resource

The Home screen displays a list of your currently selected content. To open a resource, select the entry in the list. Some Unbound Medicine applications allow you to edit your subscriptions by logging in to the web application using your desktop PC or Mac browser.

Reminder: The Unbound reader works with iPhone’s navigation functionality to help you quickly locate the information you need:

  • Drag the touchscreen up or down to scroll
  • When viewing images, slide your fingers either together or apart on the screen to zoom in or out
  • Alphabetical indexes will list the alphabet along the right side of the screen. Tap a letter to jump to entries beginning with that letter
  • To follow your path backwards, use the button in the upper left-hand corner. The button will display the name of the previous screen.
  • To return to the application’s Home screen, tap the Home icon in the tool bar.



Selecting an Index

Many resources are organized by multiple indexes, all of which you will find displayed in a list. To select a particular index, simply tap its title.

Selecting an Entry

To find an entry quickly, use the touchscreen to scroll or the "Jump to" feature as described above. To select an entry, tap its title.



Viewing a Record

Depending on the content, multiple subsections may be available when viewing a record. To jump to a particular subsection, click on the "Sections" icon at the top right-hand corner to see a list of available subsections. Tap the desired subsection and you will arrive at that section of the topic. The section you are currently viewing will be highlighted in yellow. To return to the record page, use the back button. To select a new page simply tap its title.

  1. How do I obtain Unbound Medicine products for my iPhone or iPod touch??
    Unbound offers two types of applications for the iPhone / iPod touch; applications that can be installed to your iPhone or iPod touch from the Apple App Store, or Web Applications that can run from the web using your Safari Browser. Visit the Unbound Medicine iPhone/iTouch Store for a list of available applications.

  2. I have already purchased the Wireless/Mobile Web version of an Unbound Product how do I retrieve the download for my iPhone/iPod touch?

    iPhone Apps
    iPhone Apps can be downloaded from the iPhone App Store directly from your device, or from iTunes on your Mac or PC. In either case, simply find the search feature of the store, and search for Unbound Medicine in quotes to find Unbound Medicine iPhone apps. iPhone Web Applications
    Any Unbound Medicine Application that includes a Mobile Web component is optimized for use on your iPhone Safari browser. To see a full list of products available for the Mobile Web, please visit the Unbound Medicine Store at www.unboundmedicine.com/store

  3. How do I update my Unbound Medicine software on my iPhone/iPod touch?
    To check if there is new data available, simply click on the sync button in the Unbound Medicine iPhone App. If there is an update available for the Unbound Medicine iPhone App, the application will appear in the "Updates" section of the Apple App Store. Simply click on the product and the "update" button to install the update..


  4. I changed from a Palm/Windows Mobile/BlackBerry to an iPhone. How can I download my software?
    Unbound Medicine software is licensed for use on one device, however you may transfer your software to a new device if you are willing to remove it from your old device and you have an active (non-expired) account. If you would like to install your Unbound Medicine App to your new device, download the App from the Apple App Store and enter your Username and Password when prompted. Once installed, please remove the software from your old device.

    If you had previously installed the software on an iPhone / iPod touch, and would like to install it to a new iPhone / iPod touch, please contact Unbound Medicine support @ 610.627.9090 ext. 1.
  5. How do I uninstall the program?
    To uninstall our software from your device, go to your Home screen and press and hold the application’s icon. All of the icons on your Home screen will begin to "vibrate" and display an "x". Tap the "x" next to the application you wish to delete.
