This User Guide addresses functionality which is available across a variety of Unbound Medicine products. Your particular application may include all or some of the functionality listed below.
You must meet the following system requirements to use the product.
Installation StepsTo activate the product or re-install the application in the future, please double click on the installer that was downloaded to your PC and follow the on-screen instructions.GETTING AROUNDHome ScreenThe Home screen displays a list of your currently selected content. To open a content resource, select the entry in the list. Common Icons
Below are the icons commonly used in the handheld application and their function.
Syncing
Theapplication includes the ability to synchronize your handheld device wirelessly. Once the application is installed to your device, you no longer need to connect with your computer via cables or cradle. To synchronize, select the Options menu found at the bottom of the handhelds homescreen. When the pop-up menu appears, select the "Wireless Sync" option. You have just synchronized wirelessly! You can now save records to your web account and update your PDA content, all without leaving your patients side!! Note: To obtain the Wireless Syncing feature, you must have a Palm OS or Windows Mobile device with wireless access and have the latest version of the application. If you have a qualified device but do not see the Wireless Sync icon at the bottom of the applications home screen, you do not have the most recent version. To download the latest version, see Question 6b in the FAQ, below.
Smartphone NavigationThis application is compatible with Windows Mobile / Smartphone devices. Smartphones employ a 5-way navigation wheel and do not utilize a touch screen. In place of icons in the display, navigation functions can be carried out by opening the Options menu and selecting the appropriate action.
BookmarksThe Unbound platform allows you to Bookmark important information so you can return To create a Bookmark, select the Options menu in the lower-left portion of the screen (Windows Mobile users may select Options or the To return to a Bookmarked page, select the Options menu again and choose the desired Bookmark. A checkbox will appear next to the bookmarked page you are currently viewing. To remove a Bookmark, select it from your list to access the bookmarked page. Select Options again. When the pop-up menu appears, select "Remove Bookmark".
Crosslinks
Unbound Medicines Crosslinks feature enables you to access desired information across your Unbound content. When you are seeking related information across your Unbound resources,the power of crosslinks makes it easy. When related content is available, the Crosslinks icon will appear
Again, in order to save you time and effort, the Crosslinks icon will appear only when related content is available.
RESOURCESSelecting a ResourceThe Home screen displays a list of your currently selected content. To open a resource, select the entry in the list. Selecting an EntryTo quickly find an entry, enter its name in "Jump to". To choose an entry, select its title. You can scroll through the list of entries by using the "Up/Down" arrows at the bottom of the display. Viewing a RecordTo make for easier navigation, each entry is divided into pages . Many entries contain subsections which you you can view by utilizing the down-arrow next to the title. In addition, you can scroll through the fields using the "Next/Previous" arrows. Saving a RecordRecords can be saved to your archive on the web. Check the "More Online" box, and a request will be queued on your device. When you Sync, your queued requests will be saved online where you can link to more in-depth information later.
SUPPORTCommon Problems/FAQ
1.) I cant install the application on my PC. With some operating systems (notably Windows NT, 2000, and XP Pro) you must have Administrator access to install some programs. You may need to contact your internal support department to assist with the install if you do not have administrative rights on your PC. 2.) I get an error when I try to Sync for the first time. The main cause of synchronization error is:
A Hard Reset may wipe out all the applications and data in the devices flash ROM. To reinstall the application, re-run the product Installer and follow the on-screen instructions. 5.) How do I login to theapplication?
There are two ways to solve this problem. The first is to use the "Search" option of the Windows Start menu.
Yes, the program can be installed on a memory card. When you first run the Installer, you will be asked "Do you want to install this application in the Default Directory?" Click "No", and then chose the card onto which you would like to install the application. 8.) I purchased a new handheld and want to install the application on it. Simply re-run the Installer and follow the on-screen instructions. 9.) How do I add or remove content from my handheld? 1. Login to thewebapplication (see #5: How do I login?). 2. Click on the Mobile link. 3. Check or uncheck the appropriate content and click the "Update" button. 4. Sync your device buy removing it from its cradle and then placing it back. 10.)
